The Empire State Regional Council of carpenters is proud to release our new website. The goal of our site is to increase our presence on the internet, to keep our membership informed, demonstrate our ability to adapt to the changing times and increase the membership and market share of the carpenters union in New York State.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship with the UBC is a four year program designed to teach the skills needed for a carpenter to be successful in the trade. We will teach you everything you need to know to become a skilled and profitable carpenter through on the job and classroom training.

Classroom Education consists of all the fundamental training and certifications that are necessary to become a Journeyman Carpenter. Apprentices are required to attend classroom training for four forty hour weeks during every year of their apprenticeship.

Hands on Training is acquired in the field and on the job. Apprentices are teamed up with a Journeyman partner throughout their apprenticeship who will teach them the hands on applications of the trade.
