CROTON DAM IN CARMEL, NEW YORK

Michael Wood cuts plywood to make a concrete form for the Croton Dam.

The Croton Dam located in Carmel, New York is part of the Delaware aqueduct system and provides the drinking water for New York City. For approximately the past 3 years, Yonkers Contracting and Dragados have been heading a joint venture to construct the Croton Falls Reservoir Bridge. As of June 2009, a little over half of the $85 million project is complete. Robert Smith of Local 11 is the Shop Steward on the job.
