EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program is a confidential service available to all Empire State Carpenters members and their dependents that are eligible for medical benefits through the Welfare Fund. These programs offer assistance by identifying problems, providing short term counseling and, if necessary, referrals to specialists in your area with no out of pocket expenses.
Why do we have Employees Assistance Programs throughout the Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters?
The Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters regards members as more than just employees. And as such, concerns for your physical and mental well-being are a top priority to the Council. The Council realizes that some problems are more difficult to resolve without some help; therefore, the Council provides these services to eligible members and dependents to assist when such life problems occur.
What type of problems can an Employees Assistance Program assist?
Some common issues people seek help with are…
- Marital and family problems
- Stress and depression
- Panic and anxiety
- Mental and physical abuse
- Work related stresses
- Alcohol and substance abuse
It is important to realize that no problem is small or insignificant. If you are having a hard time dealing with any problem, an Employees Assistance Program ensures that you do not face them alone.
Is the Employees Assistance Program confidential?
The Empire State Council respects your privacy and is only concerned that members receive the help they need. The Employee Assistance Program does not release any information regarding the nature of the problem or services that are being received to anyone. For added assurance, offices are not located in or near the Union Hall or Fund Offices.
Below is a chart of the providers made available to eligible members and their dependents throughout the Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters.
Please understand that members and their dependents must be eligible for medical coverage through the Empire State Carpenters’ Welfare Fund to be eligible services.
