LOCAL CARPENTERS LEND THEIR HAND AT US GOLF OPEN


The 2009 U.S. Golf Open was held at the Bethpage Black course on Long Island.

The US Golf Open, which was held June 15th to June 21st, was played at Bethpage Black course in Bethpage, New York on Long Island. Local 7 had 15 carpenters at the site building the stairs and handrails for the corporate tents, as well as the leader boards and privacy walls. The US Open has been hosted in New York numerous times including Bethpage Black in 2002, Shinnecock Hills at South Hampton in 2004 and Winged Foot Golf Club, Westchester County in 2007. The Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters has worked at all 4 US Golf Opens.

Dean Hill, Donovan Campbell and John Grim are framing the privacy walls.

Andrew Schubeck and Ray Messina are working on handrails at one of the corporate tents.
