The Empire State Regional Council of carpenters is proud to release our new website. The goal of our site is to increase our presence on the internet, to keep our membership informed, demonstrate our ability to adapt to the changing times and increase the membership and market share of the carpenters union in New York State.

A message from the Political Director…It is often difficult to find the time for political and community activities due to work and family responsibilities, but politics does have a significant effect on our jobs. For example, when elected officials do not support the enforcement of labor laws, it is easier for non-union contractors to get away with underpaying workers, which means they are able to under-bid union contractors. We are a brotherhood. We look out for not only our best interests, but the interests of our brothers and sisters and their families. This leads us to have better lives. The Empire State Carpenters work to make sure that the government does not create laws that hurt the brotherhood. We also need the help of our members. If everyone does a small part, together we can succeed. Julie Miner
